How to Read a Brain Supplement Label

A step-by-step guide to serving size, ingredient amounts, proprietary blends, warnings and claims.

1. Start with serving size

Serving size tells you how much product the Supplement Facts panel is describing. Without this, ingredient numbers are easy to misinterpret.

2. Check exact ingredient amounts

Exact quantities let you compare the product with research. Proprietary blends that hide individual amounts make dose comparison difficult.

3. Look at ingredient forms and standardization

A plant name alone may not indicate the extract ratio or active-compound standardization used in research.

4. Read warnings and other ingredients

Check allergens, excipients, sweeteners, alcohol content if relevant, storage directions and cautions.

5. Separate structure/function claims from drug claims

Supplements may use qualified structure/function wording, but they are not FDA-approved to treat diseases simply because a marketing page says so.
